The theme of this year’s Edmund Rice Education Beyond Borders Congress, held in Dublin, Ireland was Educating with Hope in our Heart and Hands. However, educating with hope involves forming deeper connections with one another and solving problems together.
The Mt. Sion Community, Elizabeth, NJ hosted a Founder’s Day liturgy, social and dinner on Saturday, May 6, 2023 in Elizabeth, NJ. More than twenty-five Brothers and colleagues gathered to celebrate Blessed Edmund Rice. Mass was celebrated by Father Robert LaFerrera. Below are some photos from the day.
In conjunction with Laudato Si’ Week (May 21-May 28), Edmund Rice Youth Ambassadors and students from various ERCBNA schools participated in the final advocacy campaign of the year, which was focused on environmental advocacy
In early April, students from Brother Rice, Michigan, continued their advocacy work surrounding immigration. Students from Brother Rice’s Human Rights Club co-led the 3rd Annual Youth in Action 4 Immigration & Faith Conference @ Divine Child. Students were able to SEE(through lived experience) JUDGE (through Theological Reflection) & ACT (through advocacy) by writing letters for the Michigan Drive Safe Bill.
