November in the Northern Hemisphere is a month of gatherings. With all the people of God we open with a celebration of All Saints, and then All Souls.
Our farmers bring in the rest of the fall harvest, our educational institutions host homecomings, our trees offer a concert of color, and on the fourth Thursday families gather to offer Thanksgiving to our Loving Father.
This year our gratitude finds powerful expression in a deep reflection by Pope Francis on the gift of Eucharist. He takes the title DESIDERIO DESIDERAVI from Luke’s account of the Last Supper.
Jesus opens to his friends: I desired with a great desire to share this meal with you. (Luke 22:15)
