The annual School Leaders Retreat was held the week of October 8-11, 2019 at the Maritime Conference Center in Linthicum Heights, Maryland. Dr. James Keane (Director of OES) lead the retreat which was entitled, "Living and Leading in a World of Grace." The event was well received by our school leaders. The program was organized by Maureen Kiers from the Office of Educational Services. Brother Tim Smyth prepared the various prayers services which pulled together the theme of the retreat. All the participants took part in a liturgy celebrated by Father John Savard, SJ from Loyola University in Baltimore.

Students and faculty from both Vancouver College and St. Thomas More Collegiate spent three nights in East Harlem, NY on route to the Student Leadership ACTION Workshop in Kearney, NJ. This marked the first overnight and the first international group to experience the hospitality of our Mission Frère- Harlem initiative.
Student Leadership ACTION Workshop
Students from schools across the Edmund Rice Christian Brother Schools network gathered September 19-22 at the Archdiocesan Youth Retreat Center in Kearney, NJ, for the annual Student Leadership ACTION Workshop sponsored by the Office of Educational Services.
There are a number of ways to look at Hope. Our Catholic theologians say that Hope is a divine gift that eventually leads us to union with our Creator. From my experience I would say that Hope is more like multiple layers of wrapping paper around a gift. If we live our lives intentionally, we discover aspects about the wondrous gift inside as we unwrap each layer, but we never quite finish unwrapping and get to the gift.
