Dear Brothers, Colleagues and Partners in Mission.
On October 6, 2021, we began a year-long celebration of the 25th anniversary of the beatification of Blessed Edmund Rice. As part of the year, we provided all of our Christian Brother communities, school ministries and outreach ministries with prayer services focused on Blessed Edmund.
In January, all Brothers received a commemorative medallion in recognition of this milestone event. In February, our Province Development Office initiated a new fund-raising appeal to help with our retirement and senior Brother needs around the beatification anniversary theme. To date this appeal has raised $57, 000. It has been a good year!
As we approach Founder's Day – the Feast of Blessed Edmund Rice – on May 5th, I would ask that all of our Christian Brother communities, school ministries and outreach ministries find ways to incorporate the attached Prayer Service into your local celebrations. As we conclude this special anniversary year, let us remember the words of Blessed Edmund: “But let us do ever so little for God, we will be sure He will never forget it, nor let it pass unrewarded.”
