Founder's Day 2019

On May 5th of each year, members of the Edmund Rice Network around the world celebrate Founder’s Day, the feast day of Blessed Edmund Rice. Blessed Edmund’s feast day is celebrated in many ways, all of which seek to acknowledge the life, action and legacy of Edmund Rice.

In celebrating Edmund Rice's legacy, schools in the ERCB North America Province used Founder's Day 2019 to create videos to show their support for immigrants who are too often marginalized in our world.

Many of these videos highlighted the important role immigrants have played not only in creating strong communities in many areas where ERCBNA schools are found, but also the profound impact that immigrants have played within ERCBNA schools themselves. ERCBNA schools have provided immigrant students with educational opportunities for more than 100 years and will continue to educate and advocate for immigrants in 2019 and beyond.
