Brownsville, Texas Immersion Program & Advocating for Migrants
From November 2024 to January 2025, 10 Edmund Rice schools participated in the annual Brownsville, Texas Immersion Program on the U.S.-Mexico border. This immersion program provides students with the opportunity to learn firsthand about the realities that migrants, asylum seekers, and refugees face as they seek a better life. Iona University ERI Internship
Iona students Mekias Assefa, Sarai Acosta, and Adrian Vazquez are pictured with Br. Kevin Cawley, CFC, of Edmund Rice International at United Nations Headquarters in New York during a recent visit to the Trusteeship Council Chamber. Students are enrolled in a one-semester program at Iona to investigate aspects of the United Nations touching on their personal social justice engagements in light of Catholic Social Teaching.

Still Somebody Homelessness Advocacy Campaign
During the week of November 17-23, 2024, students from the Edmund Rice Network of schools in Canada, the United States, and Ireland recently came together to launch the "Still Somebody" campaign, a global initiative aimed at raising awareness and advocacy for homelessness. The campaign brought together hundreds of students across multiple time zones, engaging them in a series of impactful activities designed to foster presence, compassion, and liberation.
