BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. (September 24, 2020) Today, the U.S. Department of Education recognized Brother Rice High School as a 2020 National Blue Ribbon School for its academic excellence– one of just 367 awarded nationally and one of just 50 private schools recognized from across the country. The coveted National Blue Ribbon Schools award affirms the hard work of educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging and engaging content. The 2020 National Blue Ribbon Schools Awards Ceremony will be held virtually Nov. 12 and 13.
Brother Rice Principal Ed Okuniewski said, “We are blessed to have a rigorous curriculum and a history of high academic success at Brother Rice, but it is our people who make the difference and deserve credit for this honor. Founded in 1960 by the Congregation of Christian Brothers of Ireland, Brother Rice is a private, fully accredited, four-year Catholic college preparatory school for young men.
