It is the poor of New Orleans that most needs help. Catholic
Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans has dedicated itself to respond
to these needs. Operation Helping Hands (OHH) http://www.ccano.org/hurricane_recovery_projects.htm
is a program that has grown up within the city to help those with
limited resources put their homes back together.

The community in New Orleans consists of three Christian Brothers
and up to three volunteers.

The volunteers have been taught some trade skills and sometimes
just work in small groups.

At other times the volunteers act as the leaders of larger groups
of short-term volunteers.
